This Is What Happens When You Drink a Glass of Wine Every Night

This has to do with the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and opioid peptides released from alcohol. But additionally, wine may help keep the blues away for far longer than the amount of time you're holding your glass. One study, published in BMC Medicine, which focused on the effects of the Mediterranean diet, surprisingly found that men and women who drank two to seven glasses of wine each week were less prone to depression than those who did not drink at all.
