How to Clean an Iron

In all the years you’ve been running your iron over your freshly laundered clothes, sheets and tablecloths, have you ever thought about cleaning the iron? Don't worry: Here's a super-easy way to get your iron looking fresh, new and, most importantly, clean again. What You Need: - 2 teaspoons baking soda - 1 teaspoon toothpaste - 2 teaspoons white vinegar - Washcloth Step 1: In a small bowl mix the baking soda, toothpaste and vinegar together until well combined. Step 2: Turn your iron on a low heat. Dip the washcloth into the cleaning mixture and gently scrub along the bottom surface of the iron. (You can add a bit more vinegar if needed.) Keep scrubbing until the bottom plate looks as shiny and clean as the day you bought it...what was that? Ten years ago? RELATED: Help! My Washing Machine Smells Additional Reporting by Abby Hepworth
