As the year comes to a close, it's a time when people reflect: What has happened this past year? 

A lot has happened. The pandemic rages on. It was another year marked by wildfires in the West, flooding in the East, hurricanes in the South and a record-shattering heat wave in the Pacific Northwest.

Also during 2021, a panel with the United Nations released a landmark report issuing a code red for humanity. It warned that the world is approaching irreversible tipping points if governments, companies and individuals don't take steps to address the climate crisis.

So what steps have you taken to make your life greener? We've written some stories about how to sharpen your recycling skills or cut back on food waste, but we wanted to hear from you. 

With New Year's Day just around the corner, we want to open a dialogue with you on the topic right here in the comments section on this article. What is one sustainably minded change that you made in the last year? Why did you do that? How did it go? Have you stuck with it?
