As the days grow colder and shorter, you may well find yourself in need of some warmer clothes, but reluctant to spend too much money on new items as, thanks to the pandemic, you'll have nowhere to wear them. But a fall wardrobe doesn't need to cost the earth. In a new video, menswear model and designer Marcel Floruss (who recently gave subscribers a rundown of autumnal fashion essentials) demonstrates how to mix and match staple items from H&M's fall line, styling seven distinct looks.

For the first outfit, Floruss wears a tan hoodie from the Blank Staples collection under a grey plaid overshirt, with a pair of slim navy blue chinos and off-white high-top sneakers; all classic tones that go well together for a simple look.

The second outfit is a little smarter. "Suits aren't the biggest thing right now, so a turtleneck and a nice coat is probably the closest we'll get to looking really put together," says Floruss. He wears an oatmeal-colored rollneck sweater with a plaid car coat, which he pairs with black chinos and black suede Chelsea boots.

The third look is somewhere between the casual vibe of one and the preppier tone of two: Floruss wears a cream long-sleeved T-shirt with colorful stripes and medium blue jeans, with a pair of brown leather boots and a rich cognac-brown overcoat.

Outfit number four is fitted and toned down, mixing brown chinos with a black quarter-zip sweater, a quilted black gilet, and a pair of black boots. "Clearly this is not for your coldest days, this is more early fall," he says.

For the fifth outfit, Floruss goes wild with earth tones, which are his favorite thing about fall fashion: chocolate brown hoodie, tan bomber jacket, faded green chinos and brown leather boots. "This for me is the ultimate fall, streetwear-ish casual aesthetic," he says.

The sixth outfit is the smartest of them all: a long, fitted overcoat in forest green, a tan long-sleeved T-shirt, and grey plaid slacks, and dark brown suede boots. "I didn't repeat any of the colors, which I tend to do normally," he explains. "They all work together in that earth tone family."

The final outfit is a more casual one and more on the streetwear side, consisting of a black waterproof utility jacket, black cargo pants, a red long-sleeved T-shirt, and grey and black boots.
