Sure, we will always love a traditional Christmas tree, but we can't get enough of the alternative Christmas trees people are displaying in their homes, from rainbow Christmas trees to black Christmas trees and even upside-down Christmas trees. Trees decked out in jolly snowman accessories are taking over homes and Pinterest. If you love building snowmen but hate how quickly your handiwork can disappear, then you're going to melt for this fun trend. You can fashion your very own snowperson using a faux white tree, or make over your fresh evergreen in less than an hour with a few supplies from the craft store.

Blogger Michelle McKinley of Crafty Morning has an easy tutorial and a few examples on her site, including this fun fellow fashioned from from some red ribbon, twigs, and white deco mesh ribbon. She suggests adding boots as a finishing touch.

For a style that's a bit more subtle, simply cover your tree in snow-themed ornaments, white lights, and red accents. Then top it with Frosty's signature piece—a black top hat.

You can also opt to skip the DIY project and buy a pre-made Frosty tree, many of which only require minimal assembly and come pre-lit. Plus, you can find options in a variety of sizes, so you can choose the one that works best for your space.

You can also go for a look that's more custom by finishing your tannenbaum with a snowman tree topper. Swap out your star and add one of these smiling faces to any tree, small or large, fresh or faux.

The best part? These friendly snowmen won't melt anytime soon.
