Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani will stage its first Resort fashion show in the Japanese capital, Women's Wear Daily (WWD) reports. The show is slated for May 24 at an as yet undisclosed location in the city.

Fashion's biggest brands are showing increasing interest in Cruise/Resort collections, with even more shows scheduled this year, all in exceptional locations. After Gucci and Alberta Ferretti, Giorgio Armani is the latest label to reveal the destination for its pre-season presentation. The Italian fashion house will be heading to Tokyo.

The show's location and date -- May 24 -- have by no means been picked at random, coinciding with the reopening of the Giorgio Armani Tokyo flagship in the Ginza shopping district, home to a host of luxury boutiques.

The fashion house has not yet confirmed the precise location of the show, which promises to be a grandiose affair.

Giorgio Armani is the latest in a long line of fashion houses to reveal destinations for their upcoming Cruise shows. Alberta Ferretti is heading to Monaco, while Gucci will show in Rome, Dior in Marrakech, Prada and Louis Vuitton in New York, Max Mara in Berlin and Chanel in Paris.
