The Italian Fashion house has chosen the city of San Francisco to present its 2021 cruise collection, reports Women's Wear Daily (WWD). The show will be held on May 18, 2020.

It was revealed earlier that Gucci was planning to show its next cruise collection in the United States, now the news is that the event will go ahead in San Francisco, a city chosen by the fashion house's creative director, Italian designer Alessandro Michele, because it is a cultural melting pot, reports specialist website WWD.

In previous years, Gucci has consistently opted to show its cruise collections at major historical sites, as it did when it convened the fashion sphere in the museums of Rome's Capitoline Hill in 2019, in the Alyscamps in Arles in 2018, and the Palatine Gallery in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence in 2017.

For those who envision attending all of the major forthcoming cruise shows, be warned that it will involve covering more than 30,000 kilometers in less than a month. Hermès will present its show in London on April 28, Chanel in Capri, Italy on May 7, Dior in Lecce, Italy on May 9, Versace in the United States on May 16, Prada in Japan on May 21, Alberta Ferretti in Rimini, Italy on May 22, and Max Mara in St. Petersburg, Russia on May 25.
