In recent days, news over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's former UK home, Frogmore Cottage, has dominated headlines. King Charles reportedly offered Prince Andrew the keys to Frogmore, with the intent of moving his brother out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

After news broke, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan confirmed that "the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage." They had previously repaid their £2.4 million renovations, and renewed their lease last March.

Now, the Telegraph reports that when the Sussexes were asked to vacate Frogmore, they were "not told it had been earmarked for the Duke of York." According to the paper, "The Sussexes were said to have been disappointed when told they were being evicted from the property in January, three years after announcing that they were quitting royal duties and relocating abroad. However, the revelation that the King has offered the Duke of York their much-loved home, which they carefully renovated to their own personal taste, will only serve to aggravate what have already been 'difficult' talks."

Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly been given until just after King Charles's coronation to fully move out of their home. It's unclear whether or not the Sussexes will be in attendance for the coronation. Prince Harry previously shared, "There's a lot that can happen between now and then. But, the door is always open. The ball is in their court." He added, "There's a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they're willing to sit down and talk about it."

They last stayed at Frogmore Cottage in September, during the funeral for Queen Elizabeth, and were there in June 2022 for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee. Meghan shared she packed up many of their belongings in Frogmore during that weekend.

The Telegraph also reported that the private money that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used to repay the Sovereign Grant is part of the ongoing negotiations over Frogmore. And, Prince Andrew is reportedly not in favor of leaving the Royal Lodge.

Town & Country reached out the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's representatives for comment, and we'll update if we hear back. T&C understands that Buckingham Palace views housing as a private family matter, and will not be commenting.
