Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend! Assuming you have some free time, the Washington, DC area is just brimming with things to do this Christmas weekend. Enjoy lots of fantastic light shows, including Holiday Road in Leesburg, Virginia and the Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival. Have breakfast with Santa at Theismann's Restaurant on Christmas Eve or brunch with Santa at the Fairmont Hotel in Georgetown on Christmas Day. And catch Santa on waterskis in Old Town Alexandria on Christmas Eve!

The classic 1980s Christmas movie A Christmas Story comes to the stage as a Broadway musical. The tour is coming to Baltimore so families can enjoy their favorite scenes like the infamous leg lamp and the grumpy department store Santa just in time for Christmas. read more

Watch Santa take to the Potomac on waterskis! After the show, he and his merry crew will greet children on the waterfront and behind the Torpedo Factory. read more
