An orange cat named Juice has reduced the internet to tears of laughter after a video of him devouring a corn cob in front of his owner's dog went viral on social media.

The TikTok video, shared by the cat's owner under the username juicetheorangecat, shows the feline grabbing the corn cob with his paws and devouring it, all to the song "It's Corn" by Tariq, The Gregory Brothers & Recess Therapy.

In the same video, the owner's dog, a German Shepherd/golden retriever/malamute, can be seen lurking behind the cat, trying to catch any falling pieces.

Pet website Daily Paws says cats can eat corn and probably already do because of its ready availability and good fiber content. Corn and cornmeal are very common filler ingredients in many commercially available pet foods and snacks.

Even though corn doesn't harm cats, they shouldn't really eat much of it, as it will fill them up easily while not giving them the right nutrients they need. These can come only from meat.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), cats are obligate carnivores, so their gastrointestinal tracts and metabolism have adapted to eating meat.

They cannot digest plant material well and require essential nutrients that only meat can provide to them. They are not good at digesting or getting energy from carbohydrates.

Cats require a high amount of protein that plants are not able to provide, so a cat needs meat at every meal.

The video has been viewed more than 1.3 million times and liked 236,600 times since Wednesday.
