The spectacular fortress, amongst Puglia’s flat countryside, proved the perfect, majestic setting.

Built by emperor Frederik II, a poet, polyglot, and mathematician who presided over a court of astronomers, artists and soldiers it spoke to the very ethos Michele had created—a collection of “mystical encounters and mythological places”.

An homage to political philosopher and author, Hannah Arendt, and philosopher, cultural critic and essayist, Walter Benjamin, Michele drew inspiration from “myriad eras and places”, connecting them in ways previously intangible to one another in a cosmic coincidence.

The eclectic collection saw Victorian touches collide with 1940s silhouettes and Harlequin-esque patterns reminiscent of the ‘70s.

Elizabethan-era ruffs graced necklines and wrists, 18th Century antique-inspired bags were given a modern touch thanks to stud detailing and jewellery was adorned with precious stones and micro-mosaics.

Making its debut on the 'Cosmogonie' collection runway, was Gucci's 'Aphrodite' bag. Infused with '70s nostalgia, the smooth leather crafted handbag is adorned with the brand's archival double 'G' hardware.
