GREEN BAY - Northeast Wisconsin Technical College will resume in-person classes on its campus in the fall.

Most classes will combine in-person and remote learning. Students will spend at least one day a week on campus for classes, the college said Tuesday. Lab-based classes will meet in person for the hands-on portion of the class and students will have to follow social distancing.

Students will also work remotely through video conferencing or independent study. College officials said they implemented more frequent cleaning and plexiglass will be added in the bookstore and student-facing departments.

Access around campus facilities including the library will remain limited for students. The Commons, gym and Campus Buzz will be closed.

The summer semester starts June 5, and most of the classes will occur remotely because they do not have a hands-on portion.

A new No-Risk Enrollment program will be available for students in the summer and fall semesters where students can decide if they like the setup of the course or drop the class within the first week without paying tuition, the college said.

NWTC is also waiving the $30 application fee for anyone who applies before Aug. 1.

Students and other members of the public can attend three remaining virtual community forums to answer any questions. People can email questions for the forums ahead of time to publicrelations@nwtc.edu. A link to the forums will be posted during the morning of each session at nwtc.edu/emergency.

The forums will stream live on:

  • Tuesday at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
  • Friday at 10 a.m.
