A man with Cincinnati ties is heading to federal prison for embezzling more than $22 million from his employer and then using the stolen money for personal expenses and gambling.

Dennis Blieden, 31, of Cincinnati, formerly of Santa Monica, California, was sentenced by United States District Judge André Birotte Jr., who ordered him to pay $22,669,979 in restitution. He was sentenced to 6½ years in prison.

According to voter registration records, Blieden was registered to vote in Montgomery, Ohio, from 2008 to 2013. He still has relatives in the area.

In February, Capitol One Bank sued Blieden in Hamilton County Common Pleas court, seeking $56,340 for a credit card balance he hadn't paid. His address in court records is in Montgomery.

From 2015 to 2019, Blieden was controller and vice president of accounting and finance for StyleHaul Inc., which represents influencers on Instagram, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's office.

Blieden, who has entered and won professional poker tournaments, is accused of wiring company money to his personal bank account, then, using the stolen money to pay for personal expenses, gambling debt and to fund his cryptocurrency accounts, according to authorities.

Blieden pleaded guilty in November 2019 to one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.
