Dog dies in Palmetto house fire

A family is mourning the loss of their pet following a house fire in Palmetto.
According to Manatee County dispatchers, on Tuesday, a home on Bayshore Drive caught fire.

Officials say those living inside the home were able to make it out of the home but their dog did not.
