Quite a few out-of-the-ordinary homes are on the market in the Girard area, and we've selected a few to highlight that range from $152,000 to $235,000. One former schoolhouse is on the market and it even includes a screened-in picnic shelter. A newer home in Chardonnay Village, a 55+ community, is surprisingly spacious and has a gorgeous kitchen and baths. A Dobler Road property is a cash-only deal, but it includes four acres of property and multiple buildings. It's dropped in price substantially over the past year, and so has the former Dobler Mansion on Ridge Road.

$150,000

7621 S. Creek Road, Girard

2,002 square feet, four bedrooms and one and a half baths

Situated on a 0.75-acre lot, this house was used as a schoolhouse, according to Realtor Al Ames. It was built in the late 1800s but was moved across the street in 1930. It's had multiple updates and includes a two-car, 28-by-26-foot attached garage and 26-by-14-foot screened-in picnic shelter. Ames, of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, lists this home and says it comes with photos of its days as a schoolhouse. Call him at 835-1200.

$179,900

5355 Champagne Court, Girard

2,040 square feet, two bedrooms and two full baths

In Chardonnay Village, a newer manufactured home has an incredible interior along with two bedrooms and two full baths. Built in 2017, this spacious home includes a sunroom, two-car garage, workshop, walk-up attic, terrific deck and shed. This 55+ community includes plenty of green space with walking paths and a gazebo. The association hosts planned events throughout the year. Homeowner association dues are $305 per month, and taxes are $3,043. Diana Stoker, of Pennington Lines, lists this home. Call her at 774-2622.

$235,000

6400 Dobler Road, Fairview

1,419 square feet, four bedrooms and four full baths

This one is sold as-is and cannot be financed, but it has some things you won't find in most homes. The four acres of property includes numerous buildings in addition to the house. One includes an indoor Olympic-sized swimming pool with skylights. The property also includes a complete gymnasium — not just a gym, separate men's and ladies' rooms and a private sauna. A pole barn is on the property and so is a gazebo that includes electricity and water and another 20-by-16-foot building with electricity. The sale is subject to third-party approval and proof of funds is required for all showings. It was built in 1965. Taxes are $8,929. Jenn Hills, of Coldwell Banker Select, is the contact. Call her at 838-2299.

$275,000

8340 Ridge Road, Fairview

5,607 square feet, five bedrooms, two full baths and two half baths

Constructed as the summer home of A.F. Dobler, this rambling home was built in 1894, and a good portion of it has been renovated. It's a landmark on Route 20, and it sits on 2.5 acres. Inside, it includes slate floors, a newer kitchen, incredible woodwork and plenty of space. It's been on and off the market, but it's on again and reduced in price. Taxes are $4,682. It is listed with Max Rankin of Marsha Marsh Real Estate Services. Call him at 868-6640.
