A tech company moving its headquarters from Oakland, Calif. to Plano has taken a new office location.

DASAN Zhone Solutions Inc. back in March said it was relocating its base from California to North Texas.

DZS - which provides telecom industry technology products – said it would locate an engineering center in Plano.

The firm has leased almost 14,000 square feet of office space in the Legacy Place East office building at 5700 Tennyson Parkway.

The building is owned by Equus Capital Partners.

Renovation of the office space is scheduled for completion early next year, according to filings with the state.

Entos Design is planning the new office.

DZS has more than 700 workers and plans to keep some operations in California.

“While we will continue to have a presence in Silicon Valley, this move marks an important evolution in our company’s history,” Yung Kim, CEO of DZS, said when the company announced its move. "The Dallas Metroplex has a strong pool of world-class engineering talent who are leading innovation in advanced communications technologies – especially in many of the most exciting fields of next generation wireless and network abstraction and virtualization.

“We are excited to leverage the resources that this area has to offer as we strive for new levels of agility and efficiency in delivering leading-edge solutions to our customers.”
