Reports that Amazon is thinking about taking on the prescription drug industry have sent shares of CVS and Walgreens off a cliff. Both stocks went down around four percent on Friday after the news. Amazon is in the final stages of developing its plan to take on the prescription drug market, according to CNBC. The e-commerce company is expected to make a decision about whether or not to enter the business by Thanksgiving. Amazon wiped billions of dollars of value from grocery chains recently, in the wake of its Whole Foods acquisition.
