The United States is seeing a big spike in coronavirus cases

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told CNN that "we're not going to control the pandemic" after coronavirus cases hit record high. Meadow's comments point to the Trump administration's focus on a potential vaccine or therapeutic to manage Covid, rather than implementing national measures to help mitigate the spread of infections. Over the past seven days, the U.S. reported an average of 68,767 new cases — the highest level since the pandemic began.
