Lindsay Lohan Makes Her First Red-Carpet Appearance in Years in a Sheer Gown

Harper's Bazaar 12/14/2022 Rosa Sanchez

Lindsay Lohan is back!

The singer and actress made her first U.S. red-carpet appearance in years last night, when she attended a New York City screening for her upcoming Netflix film Falling for Christmas. And to add to the shock of seeing her back in the spotlight, Lohan brought her new husband, Bader Shammas, as her date.

The Freaky Friday star walked the carpet in a sheer, long-sleeved Valentino gown embroidered with white flowers and embellished with golden beads throughout. She elevated the look with a pair of diamond stud earrings and a diamond ring, and for glam, she opted for natural makeup, a bronzy smoky eye, and a neat high ponytail.

Her husband, next to her, looked dapper in a classic black suit, white dress shirt, and no tie. The two embraced and smiled for the cameras while on the carpet. (Lohan and Shammas married earlier this year, with Lohan announcing the news in a series of honeymoon posts on her Instagram in July.)

Falling for Christmas marks Lohan's big Hollywood comeback following a years-long hiatus (during which she opened a nightclub in Mykonos and got secretly married). In the movie, she plays an engaged heiress who loses her memory in a skiing accident before her wedding and finds herself in the care of a handsome lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his daughter.

"I love a light love story: It's not too heavy or deep. It made me really happy when I read it, and it made me laugh out loud—and that was important," she said in a recent interview with Vogue UK, explaining why she chose to do the film.

Lohan is also an executive producer on the project, and is set to star in at least two other films with Netflix.

Falling for Christmas hits the streamer today, November 10.
