On Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Avengers: Infinity War actor stopped by for his 10th appearance on the talk show, which, in addition to his 70th birthday and once again passing Harrison Ford for the honor of highest grossing actor of all-time, led to Jackson being draped in sashes by DeGeneres. Once the celebration ended, he was prompted to discuss the blockbuster smash Black Panther and, more importantly, his lack of presence in the superhero movie.

“It’s a great movie,” said DeGeneres, “but I couldn’t believe that you weren’t in it!”

“I couldn’t either,” responded the star. “When they were making it, I kept saying, ‘So when do I go to Wakanda?’ And they were [shakes head].” He went on to point out that his Marvel character Nick Fury should totally have a presence in the flick, even asking the producers, “Can I just walk down the street in Wakanda so they know that I know it’s there? Because I know it’s there. I mean, Nick Fury knows every black thing that’s on the planet, so he’s gotta know about Wakanda.”

Still there are no hard feelings from Jackson. “I wish I had been there, but I’m really, really, really pleased with the success of that film and how it worked out and eventually I may end up in Wakanda,” he said. Fingers crossed for the sequel!
