Though he is about to host the show for the very first time, actor Michael B. Jordan has actually been involved with Saturday Night Live for ten years -- sort of.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the late-night host asked Jordan about "the pillow," to which the actor responded, "Oh yeah, the pillow." Jordan recounted his experience first walking into the SNL office, when he learned about how there has been a shirtless, live-size body pillow of him in there for ten years. He explained that the pillow was originally gifted by an employee to one of the show's producers for her birthday, and being that it was left in the office, it would be used by those who work on the show for naps.

Jordan took a photo beside the pillow, but in response to learning it had been used frequently for naps, he asked the producer who owned it, "So wait, every lady in here has slept with me at some point over the last 10 years?" The answer she gave was, "Yes, actually, everybody has, at one point."

Creed III Is Making Its Way to Theaters Soon

While he has been around the SNL offices in spirit for many years, as of writing, Jordan's hosting debut will take place tonight on Jan. 28, 2023. He will appear on the sketch comedy series almost a month before his latest film, Creed III, is released in theaters, a project he starred in, produced and directed. Following up on the prior Creed (2015) and Creed II (2018), the upcoming sequel will pit Jordan's Adonis Creed against an old childhood friend, Damian Anderson, played by actor Jonathan Majors.

Who Are Creed III's Stars in the MCU?

The prior released film Jordan appeared in was Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), where he briefly reprised his role as Erik Killmonger. It is unknown if Jordan will be returning to the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe right as his Creed III co-star is joining. Just two weeks before Creed III is out, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will release in theaters, serving as the cinematic debut of Majors' Kang the Conqueror. Majors has already been seen in the MCU though, being that he previously played a variant of Kang, He Who Remains, in Disney+'s Loki series.

SNL has poked fun at the MCU and major motion pictures before, so what skits the show may put on with Jordan hosting remain to be seen. Rapper Lil Baby will be joining Jordan as the episode's musical guest, and the episode will air at 11:30 pm EST / 8:30 pm PST on NBC.
