Bonnie Tyler treated “GMA” viewers to a snippet of “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” hours before the highly anticipated solar eclipse on Monday. Watch below.

Tyler’s “Total Eclipse Of The Heart,” written by Jim Steinman, was released in 1983. It topped the Billboard chart and became the biggest single of the Welsh singer’s career. The power ballad has now become a theme song of sorts for today’s total solar eclipse, and Tyler was invited to take part in Royal Caribbean’s “Total Eclipse Cruise.”

The ship left from Orlando on Sunday with an itinerary that will put it in a prime spot in the Atlantic Ocean for passengers to watch the moon cover the sun. And onboard is Tyler, ready to perform her hit song in celebration of the milestone celestial event. Hours before the performance, Tyler called into “Good Morning America” via satellite, and buried the lead a little bit. With the wind blowing her hair as she sat on one of the cruise ship’s decks, she said, “I’m on this amazing ship called the Oasis Of The Sea, and we’re going to pass right through the totality area a little later on. We’ll all be wearing our funny glasses, of course. We’ll see the total eclipse of the sun.”

Lara Spencer told her, “Yes, but you forgot one minor detail. You’re going to be singing ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’ at the very same time!” Tyler then said, “I’m going to be performing it with DNCE band. [A] fantastic, young, vibrant band. They’re huge in America. You all know about it. We had rehearsal yesterday. They’ve done a fantastic part. They’ve done a great version of it.”

It’s a great song, and it gets everybody in the mood, you know?” she gushed. And with that, she surprised the “GMA” anchors by starting to sing. After Spencer went along with it, she amusingly marveled, “Did I just do a duet with Bonnie Tyler?”
