ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village of Orland Park announced its 2021 summer events lineup, which includes concerts, veterans’ programs and annual events such as the Taste of Orland Park and the Independence Day Celebration.

“We are excited to bring a myriad of events and celebrations to Orland Park this summer,” said Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau. “We have given people a variety of options, from drive-in movies to Markets in the Park to large-scale concerts at Centennial Park West.”

Orland Park has a full schedule of events planned, starting with the Memorial Day Ceremony on May 31 at the Ara Pace: Place of Peace Memorial at Village Center, according to a news release from the village.

Market at the Park is slated to return on June 3, and will run through Aug. 19 at Crescent Park, the village states. In addition to welcoming over 50 local vendors, the village said it will provide free, weekly live music, including a variety of bands and sounds ranging from country to classic rock to throwbacks from the 40s.

Two free concerts in the park will be offered this summer at Crescent Park. First, the village said it is welcoming Classical Blast on June 20, and then on July 18, the village plans to enjoy the sounds of Frankie Valli and Four Seasons tribute band The 4 C Notes.

Orland Park’s annual Fourth of July celebration kicks-off with the annual Veterans Liberty Run & Walk on July 2 and concludes with a concert featuring John Cougar Mellencamp Tribute band Mellencougar and a musical fireworks display at Centennial Park on July 4, according to the release.

The Taste of Orland Park will be held the weekend of Aug. 6-8 at the Village Center.

"The Taste of Orland Park is an Orland Park tradition that just keeps getting better year after year," Pekau said. "I look forward to attending the Taste as well as all of the other amazing Village of Orland Park events with my family and as a part of our great community."

The village says the 2021 Centennial Park West Concert Series has a great lineup planned for summer.

“We are very excited to announce this year’s Centennial Park West Concert series,” Pekau said. “We have three fantastic concerts, featuring three different musical genres with something for everyone.”

According to the village, on June 26, the series will kick off with a full night of Alternative Rock with Scott Stapp — voice of Creed — Filter, and a great Orland Park local band, 4Cast.

“On August 14, we welcome to Orland Park Classic Rock headliners Blue Öyster Cult along with Mark Farner’s American Band and The Fabulous Thunderbirds,” Pekau said. “Last, but not least, on September 3 we will enjoy the sounds of three great tribute bands; The Ultimate Queen Celebration, George Michael Reborn Tribute and Purple Veins - The Essential Prince Tribute Band.

Tickets are now on sale for residents, first responders and veterans at a discounted ticket price of $75 for all three concerts. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Orland’s Sportsplex (11351 W. 159th Street) or Village Hall (14700 S. Ravinia Ave.). Proof of residency is required.

Registered residents may also purchase tickets by calling 708-403-5000 or 708-403-6170. Tickets are available to the general public at a cost of $90 per ticket for the entire three-concert series at universe.com/concertseries21.

"I can’t wait to see the community back out enjoying all Orland Park has to offer," Pekau said. "See you this summer."
