Ticketmaster is in trouble yet again. This time, however, it’s with a Canadian law firm who have filed a class action lawsuit against the company which they claim misled fans for their own financial gain. Ticketmaster has faced a ton of scrutiny these past few years, particularly during the presale for Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour — but now it’s being alleged that the California-based firm intentionally fluctuated prices for Drake and 21 Savage’s upcoming It’s All A Blur tour, and people are furious.

LPC Avocat Inc. claims in the recently filed court documents that Ticketmaster has not been honest with their customers after a July 14 concert date at the Bell Centre in Montreal set one fan back by $789.54. The company then announced a second date at the same venue where tickets were being priced at $350 less. It’s being argued that Ticketmaster would have known that another date would be added but still refused to adjust their ticket pricing by overcharging those who were eager to get tickets for the first show.

“Ticketmaster unilaterally decides which tickets it advertises and sells as ‘Official Platinum’ based on a given event,” the suit reads. “The result is that most, if not all, of the tickets advertised and sold as ‘Official Platinum,’ are neither ‘premium tickets’ nor ‘some of the best seats in the house’ and are, in fact, just regular tickets sold by Ticketmaster at an artificially inflated premium in bad faith.” LPC Avocat is demanding that Ticketmaster reimburses the difference between prices charged for Platinum tickets, as well as $300 per customer who paid the exceptionally high price for the second Montreal show.

Ticketmaster is also currently being sued by fans of pop singer Taylor Swift who say they experienced the same thing when buying tickets for the Eras tour. In the class action lawsuit, it’s once again alleged that Ticketmaster engaged in fraud, anti-competitive behavior, and price fixing, which ended up costing fans more than what they would have initially paid for a ticket to the concert.

“Ticketmaster intentionally and purposefully misled millions of fans into believing it would prevent bots and scalpers from participating in the presales,” the lawsuit argued. “However, millions of fans were unable to purchase tickets during the TaylorSwiftTix Presale and the Capital One Presale, due in large part to unprecedented website traffic caused by Ticketmaster allowing 14 million unverified Ticketmaster users and a ‘staggering’ number of bots to participate in the presales.”

As we reported earlier this week, many fans have scrapped buying tickets from Ticketmaster altogether and are instead flying internationally to see their favorite artist on tour. A heap of Beyonce’s fans is said to be traveling to countries such as England, Sweden, and Germany, where even VIP tickets were costing just a fraction of what they would’ve paid in the U.S.
