It may not be the same as it was, but Harry Styles fans are being treated to a dose of One Direction nostalgia with the release of Styles' full audition from "The X Factor."

On Saturday, the U.K. reality singing competition shared the extended version of Styles' 2010 audition, which helped launch him to superstardom when he was placed in the show's boy band One Direction.

Although Styles' audition may be remembered by fans for his rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Isn’t She Lovely," the extended clip shows that the Grammy-winning singer first sang "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train for judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

The upbeat pop rock tune didn't make the best first impression with the judges, however.

"I don't know whether it's the track that's throwing you, but can I hear something just you, without any music?" Cowell asked Styles after he sang.

The "As It Was" singer’s cover of "Isn’t She Lovely" struck the right chord with Cowell and Scherzinger, who put him through to the next round of the competition.

"With a bit of vocal coaching, you actually could be very good," Cowell said.

Fans on social media swooned over Styles’ audition video.

"Harry was amazing, cute and so charismatic from the first second on," user @Shawtay72 tweeted.

"His personality in this extended version just SHINES!" user @333nikita wrote on Twitter. "Glad he got another chance!!! What a little cutie Star in the making!!!"

Twitter user @jhinterthuer thanked Cowell in her comment "for seeing Harry's potential and spark, and for giving him a second chance."

"His life and ours changed forever in that moment when a star was born!" the user added.

Styles' full audition wasn’t the only gem released from the One Direction vault. On July 23, "The X Factor" also released show footage of the judges deliberating over which eliminated contestants to place in the group.

"Let’s do an imaginary boy group," says Scherzinger while peering over a series of contestant photographs. “Instead of just saying, ‘no.' "

After Styles' photo is placed alongside future One Direction members Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson's photos, Scherzinger gushes over the group's potential.

"Yes, they're the cutest boy band ever," Scherzinger said. "I love it. The little girls are gonna love them."

She continued: "They're just too talented to get rid of, and they've got just the right look and the right charisma onstage. I think they'll be really great in a boy band together. They're like little stars, so you can't get rid of little stars, you know? So you put ‘em all together."

'Fine Line': Harry Styles brings the funk on nostalgia-infused album

Following a six-year run with One Direction, Styles launched a successful solo career. His third album "Harry's House," released in May, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned four top 10 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including "As It Was" and "Late Night Talking."
