1 dead after Lancaster County roadwork accident: police

A construction worker died Wednesday afternoon while completing a project on a Lancaster County road, police said.

Northwest Regional police said they discovered an unresponsive person around 3 p.m. lying near a vehicle in a West Donegal field on the 300 block of Heisey Quarry Road. They were later pronounced dead.

Investigators determined the person died while working on a nearby road construction project, police said. The victim has not been identified.

Northwest Regional police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact police and with the reference code NW-20-03161.
