2 arrested in connection with Georgetown County double homicide
GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) — Two people were arrested Thursday in connection with a February double homicide in Georgetown County, authorities said.
Patricia Wise, 51, and Wilbur Lang, 55, face charges in the killing of Andrene Stewart, 41, and Melvin Wise, 57, both of New York, who had been living in the area with family members for months, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said.
Hunters found their bodies in a shallow grave near Whitmire Avenue on Feb. 23.
Wise is charged with two counts of accessory after the fact, obstruction of justice, criminal conspiracy. Lang is charged with two counts of accessory after the fact, obstruction of justice, criminal conspiracy, and two counts of desecration of human remains.
The sheriff’s office said more arrests and/or charges are expected. Anyone with information is asked to call 843-546-5102.
