Two men were shot to death at an apartment complex Monday in Spring, the Harris County Sheriff's Office reported.
Deputies were called to the 2400 block of Spring Rain Drive late in the morning.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said it is believed two Black men were trying to get into an apartment unit when a confrontation by a suspect erupted into a shooting.
Officials said they believe one of the men killed was a resident at the apartment, and the second victim may have been a friend.
The men were both described to be in their mid 20s. According to deputies, weapons were recovered from the scene, but the sheriff's office is unsure who they belonged to.
Investigators say they do not know of any connection between the two men and the shooter or shooters.
The sheriff's office said homicide investigators are looking into the deaths and are looking for surveillance video and witnesses who may have seen anything.
