41-year-old Salinas man killed in hit-and-run DUI crash: CHP

On Saturday, a Salinas man was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver who left the scene after the crash, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to investigators, Andres Roque Espinoza, 20, was under the influence when he rear-ended the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 while traveling northbound on Highway 101 north of Main Street.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, only identified as a 41-year-old Salinas man, died from the crash.

Espinoza drove away after the crash and later arrested by CHP.
