One person is dead and a security guard wounded in shooting outside North Side bar

A man walked up to the door of the Garden Bistro Bar late Saturday night, pulled out a gun and shot a security guard outside the North Side bar, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

A second security guard working at the bar in the 18300 block of Blanco Road pulled out his gun and shot the suspect, police said. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured security guard was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the SAPD.

Police said this is a continuing investigation.
