Amber Alert canceled for girl missing from East Cleveland

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — An Amber Alert was canceled about eight hours after a 7-year-old girl was taken from her East Cleveland home by her father, authorities said.

The 7-year-old girl is safe and with her mother as of 9:15 a.m., according to East Cleveland Police Chief Scott Gardner. It is unknown if police arrested the girl’s 36-year-old father.

Police said the father kidnapped the girl about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday from her home on Nela View Road. An Amber Alert was issued about 2:30 a.m.
