PITTSBURGH, PA — Medics responding to a medical call in Mt. Washington early Friday had their ambulance stolen. The incident occurred as they were treating a patient just before 4:30 a.m. on the 200 block of West Sycamore Street.

According to Pittsburgh public safety officials, the man who took the vehicle drove it out of the city and into Beaver County. Pennsylvania State Police were able to track the vehicle outside of the city limits.

The ambulance ultimately was recovered near Hopewell, about 25 miles from where it was stolen, and the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect's name and the specific charges he faces were not immediately available Friday morning.
