Bear Sightings Reported In Two Southern NJ Towns. Find Out Where.
SOUTH JERSEY — Black bears were spotted in Gloucester and Burlington counties during the past few months, police said.
"Perhaps he was displaced from the recent forest fires. Either way, please let him be," the police department said on its Facebook page.
Those who encounter a black bear should leave the area quietly, according to Monroe Township police.

Another black bear sighting took place on Jacksonville Road between Old York Road and Mill Lane on May 2 in Mansfield Township, police in that municipality said.
"Black bears tend to migrate through our area, but historically don’t stick around long term, the police department said on its website. "These visits are nothing new and have been occurring for nearly a decade."
Residents are encouraged to store their trash in a manner that keeps as little visible to a bear for as little amount of time as possible, Mansfield Township police said.
Black bear damage or nuisance behavior can be reported to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s 24-hour hotline at 1-877-927-6337, according to Mansfield Township police.
