Girl, 8, struck by car in Providence

Providence police provided new information Thursday about a child who was hit by a car in Providence.
Police said an 8-year-old girl and her mother were crossing Randall Street on Wednesday night when a car did not stop for them.
The girl went to Hasbro Children's Hospital with a cut on her forehead. The woman was not hurt.
Police said they were searching for a dark-colored "GM, Chevy or Buick type vehicle."
Investigators said visibility was poor at the time of the crash and that the roads were wet.
The victim was initially reported as a 7-year-old boy.
