An attempted-murder suspect in a shooting Thursday evening at the TNT Lounge in Middleburg turned himself over to authorities, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

The department issued an alert for 26-year-old Christopher Steven Lutgens advising he was wanted on a charge of attempted murder and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting occurred at the 5406 County Road 218 lounge in the Clay Hill area, the Sheriff's Office said. Spokesman Andrew Ford said there was one victim and he is in stable condition.

Lutgens, of Muscovy Road in Middleburg, also was arrested in 2020 on a fugitive warrant out of Lee County, Ala.

Ford said the Sheriff's Office will not be releasing any further information at this time because it's still an ongoing investigation.
