Deaths of two 86-year-olds under investigation in Sesser

SESSER, Ill. (KFVS) - The deaths of two 86-year-old in Sesser are under investigation.

Officers were called to the 800 block of South Locust Street just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Sesser Police said the officers were investigating a dropped call.

When they arrived at the home they found Phyllis Miller dead.

Police said her husband, James Miller, appeared to be suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Miller was flown to a St. Louis hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The Sesser Police Department, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
