D.C. police have located and found the parents of the young boy who was found in the parking garage of a Giant in Northeast Friday night.

The boy was found before 9 p.m. at 300 H Street in Northeast on Friday.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department said the 3-year-old boy, possibly named 'Jamari,' came out of a black Chevy Malibu. The vehicle had unknown Maryland temporary tags.

According to a police report, the boy was in the Chevy Malibu alone and left the vehicle without the parent's knowledge.

A concerned citizen found the boy wandering the underground parking lot and flagged an MPD officer nearby.

Authorities say the officer spoke with the 3-year-old boy and asked him a couple of questions. The boy was escorted by the officer upstairs to customer service.

After several failed attempts to locate the boy's parents through the store intercom, a person from the DC Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) was contacted.

CFSA arrived to the parking garage and retrieved the child from the MPD officer. The little boy was taken to 200 I Street in Southeast.

Police said the child appeared to be in good health.

The mother of the young boy, Bria Dudley, 27, of Southeast, D.C., was located and taken into custody. She faces charges for second degree cruelty to children.
