Federal investigators say North Carolina electrical ubstation attacks not connected
Federal investigators say they do not believe the shootings that damaged electrical substations in North Carolina are connected.
The FBI Charlotte Field Office is offering separate rewards for information about the shootings at substations in Randolph and Moore counties. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible.
Sign up for our NewslettersOn Dec. 3, someone fired shots at two Duke Energy substations in Moore County. The attack left about 45,000 customers without power for days.
On Jan. 17, someone fired multiple gunshots at an EnergyUnited substation in Thomasville.
Anyone with information should call the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Moore County Sheriff’s Office at 910-947-4444, or contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL FBI or tips.fbi.gov.
