Female suspect in 2022 Akron murder arrested in Mexico
AKRON, Ohio — A woman wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in January 2022 was arrested by federal authorities last week in Mexico.
Leslie Lopez, 26, is accused of shooting and killing a 26-year-old man who was standing on the porch of a residence on the 2100 block of 12th Street SW on Jan. 29, 2022. She was wanted on a charge of aggravate murder.
Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service and Mexican authorities arrested Lopez on Friday morning in Neuvo Laredo in the Tamaulipas state of Mexico, according to the Marshals Service. Lopez is being held in the Webb County Jail in Laredo, Texas, awaiting extradition to Ohio.
