State police said the car fire was too large to approach the vehicle to determine whether there was an occupant inside the vehicle.

After the fire was extinguished, investigators determined that there was a body inside of the vehicle.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office identified the victim as Holdjer Decarvalho, 22, of Fall River. Authorities said he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

No other vehicles appear to have been involved in the crash.

State police detectives, crime scene personnel and crash reconstruction personnel responded to process the scene, which was active through 5:30 a.m.

The cash remains under investigation, police said.
