A man has died after he was seen jumping into the Hudson River in Hoboken.

Authorities say a 63-year-old Good Samaritan also jumped into the river but was unable to save the man.

First responders were called to the scene off Frank Sinatra Drive near 7th Street just after 8 p.m. Saturday. After they arrived, they pulled the man's lifeless body out of the water.

The man has been identified as a 52-year-old from Jersey City. Police have notified his family.

Hoboken Director of Public Safety Ken Ferrante says that based on witness statements, the incident does not appear to be suspicious.
