Johnson City man arrested and charged with theft of property over $1000

A Johnson City man was arrested and charged with theft of property over $1,000 on Tuesday morning.

The Johnson City Police Department identified the man as Ronald Gilbert, of Johnson City. 

 According to the Johnson City Police Department, officers responded to a burglary taking place in Johnson City. 

Investigators were in search of a male entering a vehicle that belonged to the victim. Johnson City Police revealed that $1,400 of camera equipment was removed from the vehicle.

Gilbert was found with one of the cameras in his possession. He was arrested and charged with theft from motor vehicle over $1,000. 

Gilbert was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $1,500 bond.

Arraignment was set for Tuesday morning at the Washington County General Sessions Court.
