JOLIET, IL— The Joliet Police Department is looking for a white man in his 30s with buzzed dark hair in connection with an overnight gun homicide around the St. Patrick's Neighborhood. A 25-year-old man was shot as he sat behind the wheel of his car, police said.

Police have not released the victim's identity yet. Joliet police say the deadly shooting happened at 12:01 a.m. in the 100 block of Seeser Street.

"The investigation indicated that as the victim sat in his vehicle, an unknown suspect exited from a nearby vehicle and approached the driver side of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect displayed a handgun and began firing into the vehicle, striking the victim," Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English announced in Monday's news release.

Joliet police described the killer as a white man, approximately 30 years old, 5-foot-5, medium build, clean shaven. He had buzzed dark hair and wore a gray full zipped hoodie, authorities said.

The shooting victim was rushed by AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center where he later died.
