Linden man arrested and charged with attempted murder in Woodbridge hotel shooting
WOODBRIDGE – A 27-year-old Linden man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with a shooting at a township hotel last month.
Khalil Burns was arrested Tuesday in Woodbridge by members of the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, and the Woodbridge Police Department, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge Police Director Robert Hubner said in a prepared statement.
Burns, Antoine Morgan, 25, Gasim Kromah, 26, and Isaiah Gregory, 22, all of Linden, were previously charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, hindering, obstruction and tampering with evidence.
Police responded around 2:37 a.m. July 12 to the Delta Hotels by Marriot on Route 1 in the Iselin section of the township on a report of a shooting, authorities said.
At nearby hospitals, officers located four men ages 20, 22, 23, and 25 who were seeking treatment for apparent gunshot wounds, authorities said.
An investigation indicated Morgan, Kromah, Burns and Gregory attended a party at a hotel room where the shooting occurred, authorities said.
Burns was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a detention hearing.
Morgan, Kromah and Gregory were arrested last month.
