Deputies say a man is facing serious charges after he tried to prevent a tow truck driver from towing a vehicle last Wednesday.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, at 12:12 a.m., deputies responded to Cynthias Place in England Run Apartments for a disturbance with a weapon. Deputies say when the tow truck began to leave, the suspect kicked the boom of the truck and struck the truck window several times with a hatchet-like weapon. The tow truck driver then sped away with the car in tow, however, the boom of the tow truck ripped off the car’s bumper and damaged a headlight.
