Man arrested in Texas for death of Reno woman with ties to Fresno
A man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a Reno woman with ties to Fresno.
The body of 18-year-old Hailey Nieto was left near Cold Springs in Nevada. It was found on March 23, after the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office was called to a dirt road for reports of a suspicious circumstance.
According to the Coroner's Office, she was shot in the face.
The accused killer, 39-year-old Todd Tonnochy left to state to Midland, Texas.
On March 27, the sheriff’s office called on the assistance of the U.S. Marshal to find Tonnochy.
Along with local law enforcement, he was located in a motel on March 28th. Detectives with the sheriff’s office say there are no other suspects.
Their connection was not released and it's unknown if he will be transferred back to Washoe County.
Nieto leaves behind two children and most of her family that lives in Fresno.
