A suspect that reportedly carjacked a semi-truck driver at gunpoint in Tukwila, side-swiped a Seattle police patrol car and went on a string of burglaries and robberies was arrested Thursday night.

Police said the suspect in the stolen semi-truck struck a patrol vehicle on I-5 northbound near Swift Avenue and South Albro Place. The officer suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

While authorities were searching for the suspect they found the semi-truck and attached 53-foot trailer abandoned in the carpool lane near I-90 and I-5 interchange. There was a gun and knife on the floor, blood on the driver's door handle and what appeared to be a bullet hole in the window, police said.

After discovering the abandoned semi-truck a Washington State Patrol trooper spotted a shoeless man running on the freeway. Officers received reports of a possible car prowl and a burglary nearby with a suspect that matched the description of the man.

The suspect was believed to be involved in another possible car prowl in the 800 block of Jefferson Street.

Once officers found him police said the suspect armed himself with a rock, smashed the glass door of an apartment building and went inside. Authorities said he tried to rob a man for his cellphone inside the building, but he was stopped from jumping until authorities arrested him.

Police booked the suspect into the King County Jail for burglary, robbery and malicious mischief.
