Authorities have charged an Elmwood Park man with attempted murder after he stabbed a woman with a kitchen knife, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Elmwood Park police were called to a home on Martha Avenue shortly before noon on Friday found a 43-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound. She was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition as of Sunday.

Investigators determined that Emiliano Domi, 25, who lives at the residence, stabbed the victim, according to prosecutors.

Domi was charged with first-degree attempted murder, second- and third-degree counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses, and placed in Bergen County Jail pending court hearings.
