Corrections & Clarifications: A previous version of this article misidentified the security guard's role in the stabbing. He detained the man who stabbed the victim, according to police.

A man was fatally stabbed after a fight at a business on Tuesday morning in Phoenix.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a business near 11th Avenue and West Jackson Street at about 7:30 a.m., according to police spokesperson Sgt. Ann Justus.

Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.

Police said they believe there was a fight between two men, which later escalated into a stabbing, Justus said.

A security guard at the business detained the suspect, an unidentified 32-year-old man, who stabbed 46-year-old Jeremy Konow before police arrived, Justus said.

Konow was taken to a hospital after he was found with a puncture wound. He later died.

Detectives were at the scene conducting their investigation, and the area was expected to be restricted for some time, Justus said.
