A man was taken to the hospital overnight after he was shot multiple times while on the sidewalk in Fort Worth, police said.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a shooting in the 5400 block of East Lancaster Street, northwest of the intersection of East Loop 820 and East Rosedale Street, according to police.

At the location, officers found a man who had been shot twice in the abdomen, police said. He was taken to a hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The man, whose name has not been released, told officers that two suspects approached him while he was on the sidewalk. The victim told officers that one of the suspects then pulled out a gun and shot the man. He told police that the two suspects ran away after the shooting.

Police did not provide a description for the two suspects, who are still at large. The investigation is ongoing.
